The Winter Moonlit Glide Magnet is a sculptural metal piece inspired by Vancouver’s winter landscape—where rain-soaked streets meet distant snow-covered mountains, and moonlight quietly breaks through drifting clouds.

At its center, a lone skier moves across illuminated snowfields. Layered mountains rise behind, while an Inuksuk stone figure stands in the foreground, referencing a landmark symbol of navigation and presence in the North—and a quiet echo of Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Olympic memory.

Unlike common light-up sand magnets where the light source is decorative, the Winter Moonlit Glide is engineered so that the moon itself becomes the light. Through months of structural refinement, the internal lighting diffuses through layered relief and moving snow particles, creating a soft, restrained glow—closer to moonlight than artificial illumination.

Each piece contains a sandflow chamber that settles naturally over time, forming subtle variations in pattern and movement. The result is a quiet, evolving landscape that changes gently with motion and gravity.
